There is alwasy teh seasonal contests.. Spring themes, right now could do something valantiny for instance. Summer themes like water sports and whatnot.. Poetry, pose, encouraging others to draw other's characters for various thing.. hmm could do something involving 'what you would see on the cover of....' or something like that.. Advertisements, movie or cd covers... Only with our own characters in the roles!

Oooh, I like the ad/cover idea I'll keep that one in mind.
I'm trying to get ideas for themes that people wouldn't USUALLY draw. Like, a seasonal theme would work just fine but it's not as much fun as something really out there. Not for me, at least

I know what you mean. But even seasonal can be challanging if you do something odd. But the ad cover idea I rather like ^-^

OR, along with the advertisement idea, you could pretend your characters are high fashion models or part of a musical production, even if it's made up. just because it would compell people to use a large variety of colors. Oooor... What could be cool is the people that participate could do a picture together, like we all do sections to make one bigger picture (it could be really cool or really silly depending on the taste of the artist) oooh... Or there could be a story and, you have to draw a picture for a certain scene like.. one of the two of you picks a childhood story like little red riding hood or something, and we pick a scene from it and illustrate that with what we think it would look like of our characters took part as either the characters, or just popping up at random for comical reasons, cracking jokes.

those are just a few of my ideas.
